This was the first time I had taken Geordie Mermaid 2 (previously named 'Tahtek') since buying her from Ken and Peter. There was a fresh sou'westerly F 4-5 blowing and under full sail she dug in and ploughed along nicely. I was well impressed. She felt solid and we didn't feel the need to reef down. Alan Botcherby - master trimmer if ever there was one - really put her through her paces. Alister was on the helm while I filmed. Crackin day. Wintery light but unusually warm for that time of year.
